In order to celebrate the end of a great fall semester, Rho Alpha of course had to throw the annual Chi Omega Tacky Christmas party!
Every girl, along with their date, dressed their “tackiest” in ugly sweaters, Christmas pajamas, turtlenecks, etc!
The yearly event was, of course, a success, and it was nice for everyone to get a chance to celebrate the holidays before the stress of exams.
Thanks to our social chairs for planning this fun event, and good luck to everyone on finals!
Every Chi Omega always anticipates Dad’s Weekend, and this year was no exception!
The weekend started off with a night of bowling with our fathers. Girls had a great time bowling the night away with not only their dads, but also their fellow Chi-O sisters!
The weekend continued the next day with the Mizzou football game! After the game, girls brought their dads back to the Chi Omega house for a BBQ complete with hotdogs, hamburgers, and fun yard games.
Of course, every girl and dad had a wonderful time, and everyone already anticipates Dad’s Weekend for next year!
After the madness of Homecoming, every Chi-O could not wait for our semi-formal, Sirena de Luna! This year, we were lucky enough to have a two night event in lieu of Sirena!
The first night was themed “famous couples” and was held at everyone’s favorite venue, Galactic Fun Zone!
Here, each girl and their date could spend the night bowling and playing laser tag. It certainly was one fun Friday night!
Then, on Saturday night, we took Sirena to the Country Club for a more formal event!
Girls dressed their best in their favorite cocktail dress, while the boys wore their nice dress shirts for a night of dancing and fun!
The weekend was a great time had by everyone! Special thanks to our Social Chairs, Haydon Dillon and Kristi McCann for planning this great weekend!
To kick off the Homecoming festivities, the girls of Chi Omega, along with the men of Farm House and Kappa Sigma, got together and threw a party in honor of their partnership for this year’s centennial Homecoming!
Of course, the party had to be themed after our own HoCo theme…MARDI GRAS!
Everyone grabbed their purple, gold, and green beads along with their crazy masks and headed to the venue for a fun night of dancing and getting to know one another!
The event was a success, and we cannot wait to begin working with our fellow partners in hopes of winning Homecoming 2011!
Before the stress of exams and before we all must depart for summer, Chi Omega threw one last date party in order for everyone to get together and have a great time before the school year is over! And, to make this celebration even better, it was Kentucky Derby themed, in honor of the real Kentucky Derby next weekend!
Chi-O’s dressed for the derby in their favorite summer dress, while their dates wore preppy get-ups. Many girls even completed their derby outfits with an authentic wide-brimmed hat, just as those worn at the real Kentucky Derby.
The Kentucky Derby Party was held at the Columbia Country Club, which could not have been a better venue.
Everyone had a blast dancing with their dates, and hanging out with sisters one last time before the whirlwind of exams begins!
Named after our official flower, White Carnation is our most formal social of the year! It is always regarded as one of the most fun nights of any Chi Omega’s year, and this year was no different.
Every Chi-O dressed to the nines in her favorite cocktail dress, then headed out for a night on the town!
Our Formal is held the weekend before Spring Break, in order to ensure that everyone is in a great mood before the last grueling week of school before break!
Each girl and her lovely date, danced away their Saturday night at the Tiger Hotel, located in Downtown Columbia.
Of course the night was not complete without our seniors taking over the stage and singing “We Belong,” a Chi-O classic.
Special thanks to our social chairs, Haydon Dillon and Kristi McCann, for planning such an amazingly ritzy and successful night!
Chi Omega teamed up with the wonderful ladies of Pi Beta Phi for a true St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Together, we held a joint party in honor of everyone’s favorite all-green holiday!
The ladies of Chi-O, Pi Phi, and all of the wonderful dates, donned as much green as possible in order to look super festive for this St. Patrick’s celebration!
We were lucky enough to be able to host this social at Ten Below, one of the newest venues in Columbia!
Together, Pi Phi and Chi-O, grooved the night away and celebrated this holiday in true Irish style!
Chi Omega Mom’s Weekend is always a favorite weekend of the schoolyear! One weekend in March, every Chi-O’s mother receives an invite to a weekend of fun and bonding with their daughters at Mizzou. Moms travel from across the country to come to this event each year, to take part in the planned activities and meet their daughter’s fellow Chi Omega sisters and their moms, as well!
This year started off with a bang! On Friday night, the mom and daughter duos hit up Southside restaurant for a fun night of karaoke also with the gentlemen of Phi Kappa Theta and their mothers, as well.
Saturday, during the day, most girls showed their moms around campus and Columbia. Then at night, everyone was invited to see Uncle Joey, from the 90s hit show Full House, perform at Deja Vu Comedy Club! It was a great show, but the night was not complete without hitting up the Deja Vu dancefloor with our moms before we left!
Finally, before the mother’s departed, Sunday morning we threw a brunch in the Chi O kitchen. Many different vendors from boutiques around the area came as well for some last minute mother-daughter shopping!
This weekend was such a blast, and we were all so thankful for our mother’s making the trip to Mizzou to see us all! Thank you mothers for making this years Mom’s Weekend a success!
In order to start the Greek Week 2011 festivities off with a bang, we recently held an 80′s throwback marriage party with the lovely men of Delta Upsilon. It was such a great time getting to know our new Greek Week partners, especially while dressed in eighties attire!
Outfits ranged from 80′s wedding and bridesmaid dresses to punk rockers and to classic 80′s workout gear and neon windbreakers.
No outfits were complete without side pony tails and teased or crimped hair!
The boys even got into the 80′s theme, as well!
It was such a blast groovin to the DJ and making new friends with our Greek Week partners!
What a fun way to kick off Greek Week, and now we cannot wait to begin working with DU in service, blood, fling, sports, and all the Greek Week fun ahead!
Even through the end-of-the-semester stress, Chi Omega’s are not afraid to show their Holiday Spirit! Many girls have taken study breaks by baking Christmas cookies, playing in the snow, or visiting Columbia’s own “Magic Tree.”
Two lovely Chi-O’s paid a visit to the Mizzou favorite “Magic Tree!” Every single branch of the tree is wrapped with mini Christmas lights!
And, of course Chi Omega girls can never miss out on a tacky Christmas sweater party.
We even had our own tacky Christmas party! Everyone dressed in their best, most festive holiday attire.
Dancing the night away!
Garth and Kat from the Christmas SNL skit!
There was even a costume contest, which was won by Alexis Lucente and her date, who dressed as a traditional Mary and Joseph.
Chi Omega has truly caught the Christmas spirit!
There really is nothing better than wrapping up the semester by celebrating the holidays with such amazing sisters and friends!
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Chi Omega at Mizzou!
